SHANGHAI, Jun 12 (SMM) - A growing number of zinc mines in Guangxi have begun to resume production since this week, Shanghai Metals Market survey finds.

“The resumptions from environmental protection inspections will help ease ore tightness in south China, and TCs for domestic concentrate ore are expected to hold largely steady this coming week,” SMM zinc group says.

Over this past week, TCs for domestic ore were unchanged as a whole at 5,300-5,500 yuan per tonne, expect a hike in Inner Mongolia from the previous low level, according to SMM data.

SMM attributes the rise in Inner Mongolia’s TCs to healthy supply in north China.

TCs for imported zinc concentrate were $ 210-220 dry metric tonne (DMT) during the same period. Profits from the first decreased 20 yuan to 350 yuan per tonne (zinc content) compared with those from domestic zinc concentrate, SMM estimates.
